Date: December 10, 2022

Time: 9 AM – 3 PM

Location: Adam’s Forge

In this class, Adam’s Forge instructor Leif Bennett will take you through all the steps to successfully create a beautiful wall sconce from steel bar with a stainless steel reflector that will protect your wall at the same time it magnifies the light of the candle.

Skills used include upsetting, use of the cross pein to spread and flatten the material, then rounding the socket.  You’ll use half-faced hammer blows, taper, bend, round the hook, cut and file the sheet metal and finally rivet the pieces together.

This is a good project for the advancing student with fairly good hammer control and patience.

Successful students will satisfy the CBA Level 1 requirement for upsetting.

Prerequisites: any Discovery class, plus 1 or two project classes.

This class runs from 9:00am to 3:00pm with an hour meal break.

Please note: All classes are released for member-only early registration for one week before they’re available for general registration.  If you’re unable to add this class to your cart, you can wait for general release or join our membership program at any time!
