Note: This is not a class. These events are an opportunity for our community to come together and learn more about our craft, our forge and the people who bring it to life.

Join us for an evening with Adam’s Forge instructor Dossain Valencia and a tale of a journey in iron. To the North East, the South and back we’ll meet many amazing smiths and interesting characters in between as we follow the path one of our own took at an early age towards mastery over steel. Now the cycle comes full circle as Dossain is able to bring back the skills and knowledge gained over his travels to the place he first started off almost ten years ago, discovery day at Adam’s Forge.

Dossain is able to pursue his interest in medieval Japanese ironwork as well as 17th century Colonial American ironwork by incorporating historical forging methods and filework refinement into his work. From blades, to tools, to sculpture and everything in between, this man loves a challenge.  Along with the exploration of a new and unknown piece, the skill involved to make it is the force that drives most of his creativity and growth.
