Prerequisites: Discovery Letter Opener plus one or two other blade classes.  This class is suitable for a seasoned beginner and will require stamina and good hammer control.

Date: January 8, 2023

Time: 9 AM – 5 PM

Location: Adam’s Forge

Kember Feuerzeig, winner of the 2022 Battle of the Bladesmiths at the New England School of Metalworking will teach a one-day, Integral Utility Knife featuring a scrolled lanyard loop.  As with all our blade classes, we’ll be focusing on forge-to-finish techniques, with minimal need for grinding.

Starting with high carbon steel, Kember will demonstrate the process of forging the set-downs, tapering, drawing out the blade, shouldering and scrolling the lanyard loop.  You’ll practice traditional heat treating and grinding the bevels before final hardening and tempering.

This class runs from 9am – 5pm with a one hour meal break.

Please note: All classes are released for member-only early registration for one week before they’re available for general registration.  If you’re unable to add this class to your cart, you can wait for general release or join our membership program at any time!
