Come forge a bottle opener in our new skill building workshop!
In this super fun class, our Artist-in-Residence, Aram Nigoghossian, will teach students new skills while forging a rad bottle opener.
This is the perfect next-step class after Discovery, and is specifically designed to build on the fundamentals you have already learned while acquiring a new set of skills including….
Half-faced blows for isolating material,
Using the pein of the hammer to spread metal directionally,
Using a top tool in the form of a bob punch to create the tab for grabbing the bottle cap,
Optional decorative chisel work,
Designing a unique handle that is both visually attractive and functional.
Students will learn the techniques necessary to create a functional bottle opener section and design options for the handles. Students are encouraged to take what they learn and come up with their own designs!
This class is appropriate for all skill levels. Students must take our Discovery class prior to signing up for this class.
