About Adam’s Forge
Honoring the Legacy of Adam Leventhal
Adam’s Forge was founded in memory of artist and sculptor Adam Leventhal. His work ranged from large public sculptures to small pieces for friends and community spaces. He believed in art that was bold, playful, and political, and in sharing his tools and knowledge with others.
Today, Adam’s Forge continues his spirit by passing on the metal arts to a new generation of makers.
Based in Simi Valley, Open to All
We know blacksmithing can feel intimidating. We work hard to make it welcoming. You don’t need to be strong. You don’t need to know what you’re doing. You just need to be curious.
Classes are small, friendly, and hands-on. You’ll leave with something you made and a sense of what’s possible.
Find us at 750 E. Easy Street, Simi Valley, CA 93065. We regularly welcome students from Los Angeles, San Fernando Valley, Ventura, Thousand Oaks, Pasadena, Burbank & Glendale, Santa Clarita and anywhere within driving distance. We hope you’ll join us too!
Safety FAQs & What to Bring
Blacksmithing is hands-on, physical, and—yes—a little messy. To make sure you have a safe and enjoyable experience, here’s what you need to know before arriving.
Safety Checklist: What to Wear and Bring
- Clothing: Avoid synthetic materials like polyester or nylon, as they can melt near heat. While not required, long pants made of natural fibers such as denim or canvas are recommended.
- Shoes: Closed-toe shoes are required — leather boots preferred. Absolutely no sandals or Crocs.
- Water: Bring a full water bottle — forging gets hot!
- Hair: Tie back long hair for safety.
- Eyewear: Bring your prescription or safety glasses. Loaners are available if needed.
- Jewelry: Leave dangly jewelry and loose accessories at home.
